As you are aware, due to recent changes at Sunlit Surf, customers have experienced difficulty sending mail through an email client (such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird or IncrediMail). This email explains the necessary changes that customers will need to take place in order for us to better serve you and avoid further delays with email issues.

On Friday, August 31, 2007, Sunlit Surf will make the necessary changes to allow customers complete accessibility to send and receive their emails. However, in order for this process to take place and improve the services provided to you, customers may experience an approximated email down time of 48 hours while these changes propagate across the Internet. We apologize for this inconvenience, however this process is pertinent to allowing customers full access to their email.

Once we have made these changes, you will be able to check your email as you have been until the propagation process has completed. At that time, you will only be able to access email by making the changes that follow.

ACCESSING WEBMAIL AND ENABLING POP

This process must be completed in order for your email client to work properly and can be done at any time. You will also be able to access your email from this link in the future instead of using webmail.sunlitsurf.com.

1. Once you are logged in, click on Settings in the upperright hand corner.
2. Click on Forwarding and Pop under Settings
3. Click in the circle that says Enable Pop for all Mail
4. Click on Save Changes
5. You have completed the process. You may logout.

1. Open your Email client.
2. Select Tools from the menu
3. Select Accounts
4. Click Add
5. Select Mail
6. Type your name
7. Click Next
8. Enter your Sunlitsurf email address
9. Click Next
10. Make sure POP3 is selected under My incoming mail server is a ____server
11. Type pop.gmail.com under Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server
12. Enter smtp.gmail.com under Outgoing mail (SMTP) server
13. Click Next
14. Type your full Sunlit Surf Email address under Account Name
15. Enter your password under Password
16. Click Next
17. Click Finish
18. Highlight the newly created pop.gmail.com account by clicking on it onetime.
19. Click Properties
20. Click on the Servers tab
21. Make sure My server requires authentication is checked under OutgoingMail Server
22. Click on the Advanced tab
23. Make sure This server requires a secure connection (SSL) is checkedunder BOTH Outgoing mail (SMTP) and Incoming mail (POP3)
24. Type 465 under Outgoing server (SMTP)
25. If the number under Incoming server (POP3) has not been changed to 995 automatically, enter 995 in that space.
26. Click OK
27. Click Close

Outlook Express will retrieve not only all mail you get at your SunlitSurf address, but will also retrieve messages you send from the web interface.
